Dynojet Run JB4 Map 5 Question

Hi guys,

I went to the dyno for the first time this morning. Went to a local shop in FL with a Dynojet, temp outside was about 90, 40% humidity. Did all the runs in 4th gear.

Mods: DCI, JB4 map 5 with 30/70 of e85/93 (335i AT 70k miles)

I was expecting a little bit better, especially compared to what I see on the forum.

Result Stock (DCI only and still the mix of e85/93) = 252hp-277tq
Result Mod'ed = 335hp-378tq.

What do you guys think?
(Intake valve cleaning necessary?)

I would say that 90whp increase on an almost stock car it's pretty damn good. A stock 335i usually produces around 272-275whp on a Dynojet, so the Dynojet you dynoed on reads a little low. Intake valve cleaning is just a panic solution for those with misfires, when nothing else works.

^+1. Yeah seems like a low reading dyno but nonetheless you picked up 90whp! thats pretty good & thanks for the baseline, E85 Rules!

+2 with some downpipes and frontmount it will come up some more even with the heat. The baseline shows that there was a nice pick up!

Those numbers look very low to me. What firmware are you running and do you have a log? I run 40-50% E85 with California 91 and DCI only with a G5 and get over 400whp.

Last firmware, but it looks like that dyno was showing low numbers, the guy told me that when I arrived, but I initially thought all the dynojets would show the same numbers...
I've been stupid I should have brought my computer and log the runs

Thats a good point. That dyno is reading a bit low, plus you are only pushing 15psi of boost and it was hot out. I think you should target more with 93 and E85 though. Any log would be awesome.

What is your global boost limit set to?

I don't have DPs so I think I am not seeing above 14.5 or 15psi, but even with that I expected around 380whp with e85. I'll check in the boost limit and do a log on the road, but even the base line is pretty low so I leaning toward the dyno reading low..
