It works. Going to spend the rest of the week confirming the calibration. The car (Sapphire Black Metallic with Step) only has 640 miles on the clock right now. Initial dyno results to come within the next couple of days.

I saw several 535's yesterday at a Plano dealership. There are no paddles. Do you just click from the stick? I would love the room in one, but would need wheels pronto. PRoceded 5 could be interesting at lease end.

yep, and by that time, the money factor rates on 535 may drop to an acceptable figure.

At least when my boss and I went to get our cars, his 530 was $56,000. My 335 was $47,000. Same lease terms, his is $20 more per month. I could not be a 530 guy but the 5's have great factors. It will be worth a peek. Especially if I could get TiAg and coral.

I don't know but I'm pretty sure. The e93's weight will be comparable to the 535i. e93 and e92 have the same tranny. When Shiv limits the torque with v2, we all will be fine.

The monye factor rate makes a world of difference. Last November it was 0.0008 or even lower for 530i.

Two trannies are avail----the regular steptronic (the one built in conjunction with GM) and the ZF automatic you find in our 335s, which they call a "Sport-automatic"

.........and of course a 6MT.

You will definitely be surprised. With one kid here and a second on the way, I need the 5-series size. Considering there is a $10K difference between the 535 and 550, it makes good "business" sense to get a 535 and spend ~$3K on an exhaust, PROceed and tune which will end up quite a bit quicker than a 550. Besides, once a tweaker, always a tweaker. Just because you turn 40 and/or make a nice six figure salary doesn't mean you lose your love for modifying cars

Shiv - Any reason this would not work on a 535xi? Need the AWD for Tahoe.

um actually it is correct. The auto in the new 535 is running a new setup that allows it to lock clutches up to bypass the torque converter once the car is launced. The current 335i does not have this. It also features the new electronic selector and shifts faster and is more efficient than the 335i's auto.

I don't think this is correct. The steptronics are supposed to both be the new ZF lump, just with differnt programing.

No. The 335 has the same automatic. It locks the torque converter right after launch. This is old news. This auto was first introduced in the 335i and now the 535 has it also. Correct, the gear selector is different. It does not shift any faster. Also, the 328 has a GM built tranny. The 335 has the German ZF unit.
