Window regulator question

Dumb question but I know the window regulators are known to go on these cars, but can they only fail if you actually press the window up/down button? My rear passenger window regulator recently went out and it caused the window to just fall down. I park my car outside and am worried that when it's just sitting there the others can fail and the windows will roll down. Is that possible or does someone need to roll the window down for it to break? Thanks in advance!

Regulator likely just needs to be reset. Search youtube, or this forum. I believe it requires activating/holding switch for 15 sec.
