Has anybody had luck with the Samsung Behold or Samsung Gravity? I've tried both phones on my '07 328xi, but get the pairing failed message.

Thanks.

Edit: looks like I was just using the wrong code. 0000 worked for both phones.

Hi,

I've recently bought both Nokia 5800 and An BMW 320d E91 with i-Drive

I've paired the phone using a 16 digit code (like say in manual for OBEX transfers) and using a 4 digit code... and at first it seems all Ok...

i see my phone name on the display... and the network signal...

when i try to phone someone... the network sign starts flashing... and the connection end.. i start to ear the music on speakers and have to turn the phone's mic on to be able to talk... and after that the phone doesent pairs with the car!

it happend all the time... i can't have a full journey with the phone paired with the i-Drive..

does anyone know how to fix this??

Regards

Hugo

I know it's an older phone, but the Samsung MM-A920 (mine is through Sprint in the US) works fine with the 09 BT software (4/28 build completion, non-iDrive system), including full phonebook transfer.

Has anyone tried any newer Sony Ericsson phones? I tried getting a phone from the BMW Bluetooth compatibility list today but the person I was talking to said most of the phones are really old and aren't even available to order anymore.

Well the new iphone 3GS seems to be working great w my 7/07 E90 with Nav. A few observations compared to my previous BJII.

-No more echoing or cutting out. Other end of the line can hear me clearly in all conditions.
-Signal strength bar congruent to one on phone

Has anyone tried the Blackberry Curve 8900 yet? Looks pretty nice. Does it pair correctly?

I've been a cellphone user for more than 16 years -- lots of phones, windows mobile, several blackberry's -- the 8900 is, by far, my favorite. Excellent device.

The 8900 isn't officially on the "list", but it paired to my 2006 X3 30.i immediately. With my setup, it will only voice dial those numbers for which I've recorded a voice tag, but it works flawlessly, and the car makes an excellent speakerphone for the blackberry.

Once paired, the 8900 and the X3 connect almost instantly when the car is on (I leave BT always turned on in the 8900), and disconnects when I turn the car off. Works extremely well.

I have my Sprint TD hooked up to my LCI and works great as far as I can tell. not sure what you mean by address transfer and the voice command that you use throught the Voice Control on the steering wheel is separate from the handsets functions

I mean address book transfer from the phone to the car so you don't have to manually recreate each contact for the car that is already saved on the phone's address book and so that when one of your contacts calls, you see their name on the radio display instead of only the phone number.

Can you dial by name from the BMW bluetooth without having to record voice tags for every contact manually?

Paired my new VZW BlackBerry Tour 9630 today. Sounded better than the BB Pearl that it replaced, especially at the other end. Phone book downloaded fine (same phone book as before, so not the best test...) but I suspect that will work fine too.

It finally got hot enough here so that I could demonstrate to the dealer that the blue tooth was faulty. They had run the diagnostic and it said the system was good. Before leaving the dealership, I tried to pair my phone. It wouldn't. The service writer tried mine and his neither worked. Came back two days later and they replaced the Phone Control Unit. Has worked like a charm since then. Took six months of complaining though.

I use a LG Voyager. My wife just paired a new Blackberry Tour in place of here 8330.

Excuse my ignorance but is there the ability to pick up the phone without going through the car's system while connected via bluetooth? There are occasions where I don't want my passenger(s) listening to conversations.

I just picked up my e92 last week and my 8900 is paired up and it works. I've used it about 5-7 times and there are rare instances where it sounds a little unclear, semi-robotic. I haven't done much reading about optimizing settings/troubleshooting other than how to pair it via the user manual.

Each phone will be different, but if I recall correctly my iPhone allows one to answer using either the car's BT or the phone itself. When in a call, you may have to shutoff BT though which requires a few keystrokes.

I have HTC Wizard (a.k.a. T-Mobile MDA, a.k.a Qtek 9100). Everything works as supposed to. 100% address book transfer; clear and reliable audio, no echo; the other side always hears me clearly. Voice commands - not sure I ever tried it; I occasionally use the car's own voice command interface which has nothing to do with the phone.

I know our models are different, but I would imagine that HTC would use the same BT implementation (or similar, equally good) across the board.

From reading the Crackberry forums....

...it appears that the BB Tour has difficulties with many cars - especially with the volume on the other end (great volume and clarity in the BMW, lousy volume on the other end)

It looks like noone here has had these volume problems with the Tour - is that correct?
