So I went to do an alignment and the guy told me he couldn't do it cuz of the rear control arm bushings were shit. Told him to replace both, got charged 480 for parts and labour. Did I get raped or is that a reasonable price ? Thanks for your help

I changed out one inner control arm bushing and was 200$ so yours doesn't seem far off. Unless we both got ripped lol

If you bought parts yourself, you could find a pair of bushings for anywhere between $40-$100. I helped my friend with his e92 330i a while back doing the bushings, it only took us a little over an hour, and we were goofing around for a lot of the time. If he were to take it into a mechanic that we both know personally (only charges us 45 an hour, great guy.) the total job would've cost us less than $200, at most. Alignment on top would be $50 for front two wheels, so it looks like you may have gotten a weeeeee bit ripped. Only a wee bit, though.

Well I don't really know what to say, because it's what he's driving I'm assuming he brought it with him when he moved here then, but I'm pretty sure he had an s2000 back then and bought the 330 later.. Were they just never manufactured here or something?

EDIT: I goofed. He's driving a 328, not a 330...

Garage List
2008 BMW 128i  [10.00]
In situations like this i would seek M3 arms upgrades where possible.

But the bush replace price is fair in my view
