Cool Just Picked up an e92

Just got a 2012 e92 335is. Black Sapphire Metallic, black interior, M Package, 19 inch rims, nav, 6MT, basically fully loaded. This car is amazing. I was originally gonna go for the new mustang 5.0, but since a new model was coming in a few months I decided to wait. In the mean time I found this baby at my BMW and went for it. Great decision. The exhaust on the "is" is phenomenal. I don't even think I'm gonna change it. I love the black tips, and it gurgles at the lower rpm's and backfires when I punch it. I love any car that chirps going into third but this car is a whole new game. I had a 2009 C63, then a 2007 750i now this. I'll get some better pictures up but for now, the baby is sleeping. Sorry for the long introduction, but ask away. (if you even care -_-)

yes the C63 was the best but very very wild. and actually the 750i was just as good on gas as this one. either that means the 7 was great on gas or this one sucks. probably the former. anyway, i would have loved an M3 as well, but i searched every dealership and the options for all of them sucked ass. every time i left or got off the phone with a dealer all i thought was why the f*** would you order it like that? anyway, i wasn't keen on ordering one, and i was servicing my 7 at my dealer and i saw the 335is, so i took it for a spin and i love it. I'll tell you like anyone else in their right mind would, a forced induction engine is so much different from a NA one. even though my C63 had enough torque to create a black hole, the pull from the turbo/turbos(whatever you want to call the n55) feels so much different. different in a good way mind you. having an M or an AMG for the sake of just having them is overrated. I drove this car and loved it so i picked it up. It has the x factor for me (every time i get in the car i forget everything else). and with the options it has, imho it looks just as nice as an M3. definitely more unique than most other cars on the road. wow i type way too much......

actually you may be right. I feel very stupid. I thought myself to be very well-informed on cars, but i guess i was wrong. how would i find out? i should have guessed since the engine doesn't have "twin power" on it.

You were right. It's just a N54 with some extra goodies. "an increase in turbo boost from 8.7 psi to 11.6 psi...a standard oil cooler and an additional water cooler...stiffer motor mounts"
and the best part
"The car's intercooled and turbocharged engine also has an overboost function that allows the two turbos to develop boost up to 14.5 psi for as long as 7 seconds, raising the torque from 332 pound-feet at 1,500 rpm to 370 lb-ft."

thanks for pointing that out Hisam, I don't think i would have ever noticed.

I never knew, thought it was just cosmetic differences. Now I have a new found respect for the car. Your car looks great by the way, all black like that.

Awesome car, congrats!!! Let's see some pics of the interior.

And yes, the 335is uses the N54 engine with two small turbochargers. I believe BMW used it because they were more familiar with tuning that engine vs. the newly-introduced N55. Either way it's an awesome engine.

Best of luck with it.
