Passenger seat occupancy sensor

Hi all, So I have installed my new leather interior into my 320d E90

Now the Passenger seat occupancy sensor is faulty in the new seats,

I have removed the good sensor from my old seats but dont fancy ripping appart my shiny new leather seats to install it,

I have tried to test resistance on the ribbon cable but i cant get any stable reading,

Im suggesting removing the ribbon cable and replacing it with a circuit of diodes ?? and resistors ???
