Mad at Tischer !

So i ordered a new cowl for my e90 and it costed a fairly low price of $80 , however i was charged an extra $90 dollars for shipping ! it didnt even show up in my confirmation page because it said tbd . so shipping costed more than the part itself

Edit:Well Jason from Tischer did email me back and yes they did let me know that shipping would be $50-100 through air mail but again i was caught up by the cheap pricing that i did not notice how much it would actually cost to ship something that size. hopefully they let me get a refund because buying the part from my dealership might actually be a lot cheaper . Hopefully no one took this thread negatively about Tischer cause they are indeed legit !

Surely they told you how much it was before you paid? Why not just cancel the order then. Unless you sent a blank check

like i said the confirmation page when paying said "tbd" - to be determined . i did not think the shipping would cost anywhere near that so ...

I'm sure u clicked a small little box that saids all the shipping agreement, u should have read it. Tischer is great call them see if u can figure some out they r really good dealing with unhappy customers. Everytime I need to order from them I order in bulk to make sure is worth it man. Good luck to u

I think he meant to say not even 2 day shipping, it was 90 for normal shipping?

Tischer needs to get their act together and add a shipping charges calculator. They're good at everything else, they need to fix this. It is unacceptable in 2011 to not being able to provide (and confirm prior to shipping) shipping charges for an online order.

I'm sure the OP can get a refund, one way or another on this. I'd call Tischer directly first though and complain.

That's pretty bad, You'd think they'd let you know the cost especially if the shipping is more then the core product.

Did they not having any shipping prices listed at all on the drop down menu, or just didn't have the one for the specific option you wanted? Sure, Tischer can be blamed for not showing the shipping price for your specific shipping option, but you did agree to terms and conditions, so blame also falls on you. I would never in my right mind go ahead with a transaction that didn't state what I owed exactly, unless I knew what the blank charge was going to be ahead of time. If I was in your position, I would've emailed/PMed/IMed Evan or Jason and asked them what the shipping charge would be since you didn't know. With that said, just email/PM/IM Evan or Jason and they should take care of you. They're good guys.

I do like Tischer. They once sent the wrong performance shift kit by mistake, but overnighted the correct one free of charge to correct the problem, along with a free return label. However, I've been able to get my local dealership to match Tischer's prices so I tend to buy local and avoid the shipping costs.

I would call them as soon as you can. Skip all the back and fourth email. For something as small as this part (if I correctly understand what you ordered), then it may have been as simple as charging $90 instead of $9.

well the thing is i dont know how this is going to work out . if they dont give a portion of my money back then i might have to return it which means i have to pay another "$90" to ship it back in which either way i lose money ?

i am in no way saying that Tischer is a bad company btw ! i'm just saying that the shipping cost isn't exactly reasonable since it itself cost more than the part . hopefully i get this resolved with them .

You ordered a small plastic cowl, right? Then obviously it should not cost that much to ship. Please, just call them and they will get this sorted out. They're really good about this kind of stuff. Ask me how I know.

Wait....if I remember correctly, they communicate with AIM and email only. I totally forgot, sorry! Either that, or I just couldn't find their number. I do recall using AIM to chat with Jason. They are super fast to reply using that. At least that's my experience.
