Typically I see 13-15mpg on a spirited drive through the back roads. Best I've seen is 28.8mpg on a motorway cruise.

The last time my mate had a trackday (Mondello, Ireland) in his Focus ST 225 he averaged 6.7mpg. He used the most of a tank in a few hours

Our friend in a Golf GTI only got 8.5mpg on the same day.

Some of the race prepared porsches were only getting 3mpg

Agree. It was a sessioned day with only 20min stints. I think longer stints would have showed lower mpg as the lap times tumble...

When I had a mini, I fitted an extra tank in the other side to double the capacity. You "could" do the same, but maybe you would need a third tank to get near the 750 range I had in my old 320D

Anybody know what 70.6 mpg is in l/100km?? I guess it's pretty low.

This week, i'm mostly driving around like Carlos and achieving 27mpg! But my average speed is less than 20mph too....

Based on a UK gallon (4.54 litres) I calculated it as:

15.55 miles per litre or...
24.88 km per litre or...
4.019 litres per 100 km

I can do better than that, Carlos. All I have to do is stop at a traffic light and I'm getting ZERO miles per gallon. At least while I'm there.
