Next... location.

Bristol / Bath / Cheltenham

Bristol: Right on the M4 / M5 so easy to get to. But you do have to fight your way in and out of the city to get to some decent roads.

Bath: A little way off the motorways. Only fairly major routes in and out of the area, so a little drive to the fun roads.

Cheltenham(/Gloucester): Easy access to the M5, and from London on the end of the M/A40 or via Swindon and the A419. In the heart of the Cotswolds.... wouldn't take long to get out on some nice roads

Cheltenham is closer to me. But can I get there without coming anywhere close to Birmingham? It rains buckets every time I'm within ten miles of that place.

Right, the date is set for the next South West Meet - 25th July 2009.

We are thinking along the lines of a meet to be held in either Bath/Bristol or Cheltenham, with a hotel stopover.

Those were Matt's words I stole Floyd.

But I have done a fair bit of work around that area, and can't say I have seen many fixed speed cameras at all. Roads are quiet, and it's all very picturesque.

Try a Google search of "The Romantic Road" in the Cotswolds.

What about South Cerney Water Park. Easy access from M5 or M4 via the A417. Several car parks to meet in eg. Cotswold Outdoor store with cafe next door. Pub/hotel next door. A water ski lake a bit further up for some out of car activities!! As Will and Matt have said very picturesque and good roads for a drive. Only an hour from Bristol/London/Birmingham.
