Key FOB issues 07 335i

All,

Currenlty have 2 issues with the car, i'm not sure they are connected with each other.

#1. The battery is on it way out.
(a)The last 4 mornings i've had to jump start the car. Car always started the instant I attached the jumper cables. The car has been able to start for the rest of the day with out issue.

(b)This morning was especially cold (3*). Car didn't have enough battery power to unlock any doors or the trunk with the key FOB. I took the key out of the key FOB, unlocked the trunk, and proceded to jump the car. This morning the battery took awhile to jump.

#2. The key FOB/car is malfunctioning.
(a)It will start the car
(b)It unlocks the trunk.
(b)Only locks the drivers side of the car.
(c)Car won't unlock any of the doors.

Has this happened to anybody else, or have the slightest idea what is going on.

Thanks

Why not replace the car battery? Then see how the key works?

I'm going to do that tonight, I understand there are several fuses that could cause the issue as well

Battery tender would be a good idea.

Ctek 3300 is the one most recommended.
These cars are battery hogs.
If you have comfort access the battery in the the Fob is replacable its not rechargable for comfort access.
can be found in most drugstores for about 3 bucks each .
Much cheaper on line at amazon for the car fob battery.
Tinting will reduce the range of the remote.
The correct jumper points for the battery are under the hood see the manual.

Because that would take the fun out of analyzing how the car will behave with a failing battery. There are far more possibilities to be explored and documented, with the bad battery.

^^ appreciate the snarky remark.

The battery has been replaced with a exact match and registered. The car continues to malfunction. I've checked every 15 amp fuse in the fuse box, fuse 56/57 etc etc etc..

I called the local bmw dealership, Winslow. The rep told me that: "even though the car is CPO, it is going to cost me money." Their base charge is $125 to diagnose the problem and establish if the repair is covered under CPO or not. If the repair is covered its going to cost me a $50 deductible.
To me this is a bunch of crap, clearly a service bulletin has been posted about the issue. Winslow BMW must think i'm in idiot......
