hey guys, i was in miami going down the palmetto, according to the officer i was doing 86 in a 55, i had my radar on and i didnt hear it go off at all. also in the ticket he never put if my speed was paced or he got it on the gun. my ticket is (316.183.2), which states mandatory court appearence. my question to you guys is do any of you have experience with what happens when you go over 30mph the speed limit? i mean i was going 31 over, what should i do?

But hopefully you can get the speed lowered or some form of reduction. I am not sure of the FL rules but in NC you would lose your license and have a pretty good fine.

Not sure I've never got a speeding ticket for 30+:O I've had around three tickets within a period of a month for 10+mph over and a lawyer got them all thrown out lol. I think for 30+ you're screwed but not 100% sure

expect 500+ ticket and thats without court fees. You're looking at a $650 ticket easily or if the judge is very mean, he can suspend your license.

I got one like that but in Osceola County.
100 mph on a 70 mp zone (turnpike).

Make story short,

I got a lawyer since I wasn't driving back to Orlando to court.
$500 fine, 6 hours of driving school and 3 points on license.

Good think that guy didn't get me last night on Palmetto going 140+ racing a mustang

They will just make you pay a very high court fee and that will be all.

What I meant by scam, is that when you get a lawyer, they don't even fight your ticket. They always settle for court fees. The court gets its money (that's all they want) and the lawyer gets it share too (when you hired them). At least that has been my experience and my friend's here in dade.

My ticket was in Osceola County not in Miami Dade. $500 fine, 6 hours of driving school and 3 points on license.

ok and is dade more strict than Osceola? paying the ticket or doing traffic school doesnt really bother me as much as getting points on my license, are there any chances the judge may lower it to something under 30mph ?

Osceola is more strict than Dade.

It all depends on you driving record pretty much. That's what the judge is going to look at.

You can take it to a lawyers but you will have no control to what may happen. Or you may look for a real lawyer that will really fight your ticket.
Or you may go to court yourself. Most of the time the officers don't show up and case gates dismiss.

ive proably had 5 tickets in the past, 2 for speeding, and the others simple things like registration.

and say i do look for a real lawyer that will fight it, how much will that be lol, sorry for all the questions

and say a lawyer goes in for me and the cop doesnt show up for court, does the ticket get dropped or can the judge still issue something towards me
