I heard its a bitch to do the install and the only things I've ever done is put in a drop-in and scoops.. Wouldn't feel comfortable with it.

Thanks in advance,
not to hate on the PBX but it is not the tune i would go for. does it help with throttle response: yes is it worth 250-300: no. its not going to give you any power or torque. i tried it and it was great for a week but it seemed to adapt to the ecu. stick with an AA tune its another 100-200 (500 total but ive seen it for 400). throttle response is much better but more importantly shifts are super smooth if your running an auto (i was amazed with the up and downshifts from 2-3, 3-2, 2-1)

hope it helps!!! (PBX is still good though, easy install)

Meh $200 vs $500. Big gap there.

The performance is different on every car.

yeah for sure... AA tune is out of my league for right now and is harder find a place to get it done.. for the money I don't think the PBX can be beat.. and from what I've read, much better than the Sprintbooster.

I've had this in my car from pretty much when it came out. Loved it the minute I pulled out of Mike's driveway. Have you dynoed your car with the PBX? I don't think so. I have and it gave me close to double digit figures. I'm not going to go on about re-sale value when parting out etc. All I can say is, dollar for dollar it's one of the best if not the best one can do for their N52.

Whats your say on all the talk about the ECU adapting to it and the fun not lasting long. Is it true? Do you reset it every now and then?

hey all i can tell you is to call up bimmersport they offer the AA for 499 installed and warrant it aswell.

it is 10000 times better than a PBX, yes the pbx is cool but what these tunes are really for is making the car more "lively" all the pbx does is make your throttle more responsive (when u push it a bit its like pushing it all the way). the gear calibration with the AA is far superior

all i can say is save up!!! you can do it, do it right or do it twice

The PBX not only changes the dynamics of the throttle response, which just on its own changes the feel of the car and removes the throttle lag it gives you a nice moderate boost in power. Is it earth shattering, NO, but combined with the throttle remapping the car is definitely transformed.

Forums are a great place to learn more about your car (current or future purchase) and also a great place to meet new people who share the same enthusiasm and passion in their car as you do. Over the past 2 1/2 years I've been apart of E90 Post I've read and still do about this and that, do this don't do that, buy this don't buy that etc. It is what it is...a place where people can share and express their opinions on an item or experience. Having said that, I take everything I read here with a grain of salt. One persons opinion does not represent everyone else's. As for my experience with the PBX...it's been nothing but amazing. Words and phrases like "transform", "the car feels lighter and alive" and one I'm sure most have heard "this is how the car should have been designed from the start". I have had no issues with my PBX "adapting" in my 330i. If I'm ever in doubt that it's not in the map I want, I simply "reset" it by setting it to map 0, drive for a short distance then pull over and reset to a other map. I guarantee it'll put that smile right back on your face. Can you do this with the AA tune...I don't think so. With the PBX you can atleast turn it on/off to see if it's working. With flash tunes you can't...not to mention part it out if you decide not to keep it.

When in doubt, reboot. :-).

Yes, disconnect your battery before and during install.
