Carbon Trim Added
Decided to smarten up the awful/worn brushed silver trim. Roped in the Mrs (she actually did 70% of the work), its not complete but 90% there, these are the results;
Will take better more varied shots soon |

That looks like a very good job, the black probably suits that interior more than the original silver.

Looks brilliant - the dark vinyl contrasts well against the light interior.

Lol certainly is.
Thanks people. I actually got it from ebay, originally was going to go with 3M as its what everyone recommends but then went for a MUCH cheaper Japenese (supposedly) brand for £20. In total cost me £26 including trim puller and squeedy thingy. Although it took about 4 hours to do, it was surprisingly easy and had no issues with air bubbles. The main problems is the edges of the trim which can take a while to get right http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3208085638...ht_6727wt_1327 I ordered 1x1.52m @ £19.99 and have approx 35-40% remaining Agree with the Silver + Cream leather.... have no idea why anyone choose that combo. Think the light and dark contrast compliment each other perfectly |

Very nice it stands out nicely with the light interior.
Not being picky but why is the doortrims and centre console running opposite ways to the dash as its meant to run in line from bottom left to top right.

Lemans;
Honestly i didn't even think about the way the weave was running. Not to bothered either, but well spotted!! Plenty left to redo if it ever gets on my nerves Awfully_Polite; There is a slight grain to the vinyl but no real texture i would say. I just used a hair dryer to help with the edges. No need anywhere else as it was really easy to apply and manipulate with no air bubbles. Triggster; I havent had experience with 3M but would imagine it would be better quality/texture due to the price difference of £60 but i'm more than happy for the £20 i spent. Miss Cat; I would say very easy to do with some patience. No i didn't follow a how to guide. All of the trim Just pulls off either by hand or with a trim puller/flat head screw driver. Then you just need to disconnect the electronics (start button, vents, 12v power etc etc). Thats it. The wrapping we did by just roughly outlining the trim piece then cutting it down to size and sticking it on. After i did mine i found a guide to removal; http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=137527 |

Good job. How you managed Ashtray?
You covered silver trim on ashtray. Nice job. What is price difference b.w 3M and this one b/w?

Torx 10 to remove ashtray if i remember correctly. The laid it over to top and a little bit of heat around the edges. When i last check 1.2x1m of 3M was about £75ish and 1x1.5 of this stuff was £19.99 |

Mate do the wee bit on the ash tray. Give it a bit of heat then use your nail to push the vinyl around the edges then cut it lightly with the scalpel. You can do it.

Best way is to remove ashtray silver trim by getting at the back and scraping away the melted plastic, push through the 3 pins gently, apply new covering and pay attention where trim was to get it into the recess, make 3 holes through the vinyl and refit silver trim and apply a little spot of superglue to the 3 pins at the back, job done.

Removing the ashtray covers is the most difficult part of the job and there is potential to damage a couple of clips but the part will refit on remaining ok, I was lucky and got away with it by prising the cover off gently. To follow the ashtray silver trim removal you must remove the ashtray cover to gain access to the back of the lid. I tried the scalpel method first time around and was not happy with the result, my method adds approx 10 mins to the job.
