XI Staggered Question

I know this has been beaten to death, but I'd like to hear from long term members how their cars are doing with this setup. People claim that anything less than 3% rotating diameter is okay but I've been seeing several threads of people with staggered setups having problems (maybe not directly related to wheels but possible).

Perhaps there are no (noticeable) problems for the first few years, but how many people have driven for 6+ years without issue?

Also, anybody have any problems with dealers voiding drivetrain warranty because of the setup?

Thanks in advance.

6+ years? Has the e92 335 even been in production for that long?
I've been running a staggered setup for 2 months with no problems. Haha
BTW I haven't seen many people (or anyone?) say 3% is an acceptable variance. At most I've seen 1%.

I think it's been around since late 05 but I may be wrong.

So for those who have been running this setup long term on their 06-07 models, any issues?

Perhaps more specifically, anyone run Linea Corse z2s long term?

Rotating diameter is one thing, but anyone ever consider the additional weight on the rear due to the wider wheels?

Acceptable difference is 1% max. My 09' 328ix came with 17" square setup, I run a BMW 18" wheel staggered setup in the summer now for 3 yrs (still use the 17's with winter tires) - no problems.

Running staggered setup similar to what BMW actually installed as an option certainly isn't going to void your warranty or harm the car...

But what is considered "similar" to the OE staggered setup? The wheels I have are 19s and seem significantly heavier... I could perceive them denying warranty because the aftermarket wheels put additional strain on the drivetrain, akin to that of aftermarket downpipes on the engine.

Hopefully more people can provide some feedback.

IMO in the long run, i.e. 50-75k miles, you are probably going to be doing at least minimal but definitely somekind of damage to the TC. As far as running a 1% staggared set-up I think it is fine since most members run it w/o problems and am even thinking of running one myself but over time the TC or something in the drivetrain will eventually take a poop

There's always going to be normal wear and tear but if I have any major issues I don't want the dealer to use my aftermarket wheels as a basis for denying my warranty. My car is CPO so I have a long way to go.

So far 1quikws6 is the only one who has commented to have no issues long term but I would like to see some 335 owners comment as well. The additional power is a variable to consider.

I emailed my service advisor but he made an excuse about not being able to access his work emails while at work lol. Looks like he doesn't want to commit to an answer.

What setup are you thinking about running. My E92 XDrive came with oem 17", switched to aftermarket with OE 18" specs - no issues and would not expect to have any.

I have a set of Linea Corse z2s - 19/30/8.5 and 19/35/9.5.

I know that the stock wheels are staggered but those are much lighter than most aftermarket wheels. I don't expect any short term problems but fear long-term issues. I 've been seeing several ppl reporting awd problems on this forum but its not certain to have been related to the staggered setup.

If worst comes to worst and I have to take it in to the dealer for problems, I'll just take off the rims
