Found Someone to Code, What Should I Do?

I'm not up to date with what I can and cannot do with coding, but I found a guy who could do it for me for relatively cheap. What I'd want the most is for my Angel Eyes to be brighter (possible?).

IDK tho, what would you guys recommend? Which coded options have you done that you really like?

Brighter AE's are possible, I wouldn't recommend if you have aftermarket ones. Some that I like are..
Roll windows down with key fob
Wipers complete cycle when car is turned off
Windows will go all the way up when you open the door while they're going up
True car speed in BC
AE as DRL
No amber lights on with headlights
Remove seatbelt chime

Many more too...

Those sound great.

I just got some After Market LED's for my AE. 20 watt, nothing too crazy. So I shouldn't code it?

No Amber lights on with headlights sound awesome too.

Aren't AE already the daylight running lamps? (confused)

Don't hold back! lol

DRL as angel eyes is different from increasing voltage which personally I wouldn't do if you ask me...
Some of my favorites are my TCU flash and being able to drop the top while moving

The brighter brake lights are nice too, and being able to auto roll down the windows while the doors are open, and turning the nav disclaimer off too.

I also have recall wipers after shutting the car off, the digital speedo, and a few others I may have forgotten.

There are so many things the euro Bimmers have enabled that us US guys do not.

I had a buddy of mine at the dealer do the LEGO mod for the rear fogs (yeah yeah not a code but more of a physical thing), but my euro hazards seem to be pissing people off so I'm trying to have that reverted back

What's wrong with the euro hazards man? I love em!

Adding to the list:
1. Fold mirrors with key fob.
2. Enable high beams with fogs.
3.Removing the timing between when the windows move; sun roof front and rear windows all start at the same time. A bit tricky but I personally like it.

These are all great suggestions, thanks. My AE are my day time lamps, my 335 is an 08. So I wouldn't need that coded.

But to the couple people in here who said they wouldn't code the car to make the AE brighter, why not? Have people had trouble with it in the past?

I have an 09 with CiC iDrive. Can you give details what to code to accomplish this?

Thanks

windows up with key fob and mirrors in

I would not mess with the voltage input for AEs because you risk straining the electrical components. (think of the voltage in the AE like hp in the car, the more hp in the same car, the shorter time it will last)

Auto windows and sunroof close from FOB is the best single thing I have coded to my car. Do not miss out on adding this feature. Nothing worse than getting out of your car and realizing you left a window or sunroof cracked open and having to get back in, put the key and shut everything manually. Now you just hold the lock button and walk away like a boss as everything closes and the side view mirrors fold in. I can't believe this wasn't a standard feature.

Can you tell me more about the drop the top while moving?

Also can you code your keys to drop the top or would you have to buy a module? Comfort access only?

Basically had somebody in New Jersey code it so that I can drop or put up the top and speeds below 30 mph.

It really pays off when you're in the middle of that top transition and people are honking that a red light

I thought you needed the smart module for this. Nice to know that if can be done with coding. Can you code to have one touch open or close?

Hey Richie! Actually I think you need the Smart Top for that one. This simply makes it possible to drop and close the top while the car is in (slow) motion

I would still use EXTREME caution and good judgment, because you don't want to be "that vert driver" that bangs up their roof partitions because you rolled over a major road imperfection. Few things hurt the heart more.

So would it mess with the car's electrical system or just burn out the AE's quicker?

I wouldn't mind buying AE's over again, if thats the case. But if it messes with the electric components of the car then I won't do it.

You can do that with the metal key in the door lock too.

Opps, I didn't see you have an E92. I believe they were DRLs on coupe but not sedans, mine is an 08 and didn't have them stock. Also for the brighter AE's, I would just keep them stock, you have a better change of damaging them if you're running more volts through them.

Also, I forgot about folding mirrors with the fob, this is great too as others have mentioned, and I meant close windows and roof with the key fob not opening them.

Got the right link? Doesn't seem to work.

Found the bmcoding link just a short time ago but I can't do many of the things on the list because my car just missed the cut and only has CCC w/the programmable memory button update.

Among other things, I want to get my car coded to close the all of the windows & sunroof w/the fob (for when I walk away from the car and notice that any of them are still open), but why is folding the mirrors w/the fob necessary when you can just push the button on the driver's side door to do that?
