It certainly doesn't give me any confidence in terms of security, I hope they are shipping out those brackets soon... it doesn't have much but gravity holding it in place. The noises are cool but not nearly as loud as the video posted. I'm actually a little disappointed with that.. I'm hoping it's more noticeable with a tune (more boost). Considering the part doesn't really add horsepower, I was only buying it for the noise/better driving experience. If it were $400 like the AFE's were, I'd be pissed, but for sub $200 I guess one really can't complain. |

Any advantage to leaving cowl or rubber weather seal off? Would seem to release heat better...
But my intake noise is so loud on the highway, part throttle is like zzzzpppp, psshhh , all the time! Guess its wastegate moving? I do have lagfix at 100, maybe thats why |

My Review:
Scales : Install Difficulty 1-10 (1 being simple, 10 being get a mechanic to do it for you, you'll screw it up!) Enjoyment 1-10 (1 being shitty, 10 being can't get enough!) ************ Scores: Install Difficulty: 3 Enjoyment: 8 ************ Ok, now that I've given the scores out, let me elaborate. The install is as simple as it gets. It's about as easy as changing out the OEM filter. It literally took me about 25mins to do. I've taken out my MAF on my other car (2003 G35 Coupe) about a baker's dozen times to clean it - so that was a snap and probably comprised of 80% of the time - unscrewing from old and re-screwing to new. The enjoyment portion is a little weird. I say that b/c my experience is like @ss backwards than most posting on here. I personally BARELY hear a thing that's any different than OEM, unless I have her at WOT. I hear a *slight* air suction sound that I think most are referring to as a "whoosh". My G35 coupe has a STILLEN air intake and it's much, much louder than this - but I'm most likely comparing apples and oranges. I definitely don't hear anything that's even remotely comparable to a BOV. Some have posted that they purchased this intake strictly for the SOUND it makes, but I purchased it for more of a combo - sound if it makes sound cool, if not, cool - and some improvement on throttle response. Sound aside, I IMMEDIATELY noticed a nice improvement in throttle response! The car feels like she's "pulling" much harder and doesn't seem to "lag" as much, when at a dead stop and going through from 1st to 2nd gear. I'm really thrilled that just an intake can improve on this car so well. I have a ETS exhaust that's about to get installed and an ETS intercooler, so I'm excited to think of all the improvements these parts working together will make! The product overall is HIGH quality and really well put together. Great work Burger!!! I really wanted the AFE intake but I wasn't about to spend 400+ for it, so thanks Burger Motorsports!!!!!!!!!! For others thinking of pulling the trigger, I'll leave you with quote I feel fits perfectly: "It is so choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up." (Ferris Buellers Day Off). Thanks Guys! -WoW |

P.s. I plan on doing this as an additional "mod" to 'feed' the intake more air (hopefully cool air)...

Installed mine today and it was very simple. Diverter dump is much more noticeable and no odd sounds whatsoever ( have the hood insulation though ). Seems to have no effect on the butt dyno, but the sound is great!

I need to know when the bracket is shipping out too. It's just sitting there and vibrating/shifting as you drive. That can't be good. Please let us know when you will be shipping the brackets out to all the people who ordered this air intake.
Thanks, -WoW |

Thanks for the update Mike. I understand that it's not going to "go" anywhere, but vibrating up and down over time is either loosen the connection to the "accordion" OEM tubing or going to rub up against something somewhere. Why else did they decide to make a support bracket?
Are we going to get them shipped out to us automatically with no charge - that was my understanding - but wanting to make sure that was correct? Thanks, -WoW |

BTW I didn't buy from you Mike, I bought directly off the BMS website - so should I contact them directly about the support bracket or are you acting as their "rep"? Please let me know what you think and thanks, -WoW

I installed the BMS on my e90 two weeks ago, it sounds great and the fitment is good... BMS did not send the bracket on the first 100 CAI's... I have made a request for them to ship me one once they are ready...
