Fuel Problem Issues

Hi,

First time posting here since I'm running into an issue I can't seem to pinpoint.

Anyways, here's the situation: I recently got a 2008 328i e92 and it's been going strong. However, I noticed a gas smell from the rear driver seat where the fuel pressure regulator is at. Looked at it and noticed a small crack in it. I ordered a new fuel pressure regulator and installed it. The installation went pretty smoothly however i'm having some issues when the car idles for about 2 minutes it will eventually stall out like it's not getting enough fuel. If i hold the gas at 2k rpm for a bit it'll be smooth with the occasional "burp" of air. I tried for about 30 minutes of cycling the engine on and off to help some air get out. Well after doing that, i walked to the rear right wheel well and noticed a puddle of gas on the ground. I've read in other forms that there is a breather hose on the gas tank that will spill out gas if overfilled. My tank is nearly full as I put some gas into it but not overfilled. I've seen a few other people have a similar issue where their car has issues after replacing the fuel pressure regulator but nobody posted back what the root cause was. Has anybody ran into this before and resolved it?

The breather hose shouldn't spill gas out at all unless the system is outrageously overfilled and even then it wouldn't leak it just send it to through the evap system into the intake. You're gonna need to find exactly where that fuel is coming from because it's likely the cause of your issue who knows maybe a line has a slit that's leaking out:
