Noise when turning wheels!

My car is making a loud click when fully turning to right or to the left while standing still.

I got two jacks and lifted the front and there is no noise when the wheels are off the ground.

I read something about possibly being the end links any input on this?

Do you have upgraded suspension? If so, check the endlink first.

Is it making a 'clicking' sound or a 'gunk gunk' sound and vibrates the steering wheel a little?

gunk gunk sound and steering vibrates a little, also noticed that the car drops a tiny bit before the sound.

i will take a video later today and post

Dude that's EXACTLY the problem I'm having! I'm on PSS10s but I don't think it has to do with my upgraded suspension, because it started before I had upgraded an progressively gotten worse in the last year or so.....

I'm still trying to get to the bottoms of it. For me, it almost feels like there's a 'dead' spot when turning the steering wheel to the left, right before the wheel is cranked all the way....

I thought it might have something to do with the power steering fluid needing to be changed. Because I read in the DIY for the power steering fluid that others have experienced slight 'noise' when turning the steering wheel, and after they changed their PS fluid, they said the 'noise' had gone away....and the steering is 'smoother'.

So I think I might need to change my PS fluid to see if that solves my issue.

It's the aftermarket springs on your car. I have the same problem. I brought it to my mechanic and he took out the spring (noise was coming from the front driver side) and reinstalled it and the noise went away. However now it's slowly coming back. I'm debating whether I want to go back to my stock springs now.

Could be the bearings in the top hat maybe, or as fastfurious mentioned, the Spring on that side. Sounds like it's moving within/btwn the perch.

ill check the springs and change the end links next week and see if that takes care of it.

sounds exactly like mine. Yours more pronounced though and happens earlier. Mine klunks it almost at the end twice.

How is it that the bearings are causing that issue/sound? In trying to diagnose the sound that I hear/feel last night. We found out that the lowering perches were kinda loose on the driver side, which is the side experiencing the noise. So I'm going to try to tighten the perches to see if that solves the problem/noise.

Also, this is kinda OT, but are the front springs on a PSS10 suppose to rotate when you try to rotate it? Mine did when I tried, granted it wasn't freely rotating, but they did when I grabbed the springs and put some force behind it. Is this normal? The wheels were off and had no load on them....

TIA

I just saw your video, that's NOT the sound I'm getting when I turn my steering wheel. It can only be felt when my hands are on the steering wheel, not heard. Verified it last night when I had my cousin drive my car and I was outside next to the car.....

But I think I might have found the culprit. As I said, I was gonna tighten the lowering perches on the front suspensions, both sides. Well, after I tightened them, the 'gunk gunk' noise went away on the driver side, because I had to test it out to see if the other 'popping/clunking' noise went away, it did a little, but not completely. But what I noticed was that the 'gunk gunk' noise went away, and made turning of the steering wheel much smoother, no more 'dead' spot, as I had described in my other posts.

I don't know if it's the same, but it may be your CV boot. I had this issue on a previous car.

My car makes a similar sound--"clunk clunk"; it's little lower/heavier sound than the one on the video. Bringing the car to the dealership on 1/12. Will post an update afterwards.

BTW - I'm on stock performance package suspension.

Notes from the technician.

"Verified normal noise from when brakes are applied and steering is worked left or right while vehicle is stationary. Due to pads gripping rotor and steering articulating while steering while steering wheel is turned."

They also tested steering left and right while on the lift--no noise. The noise occurs when the pads are worn and need replacing [soon].

Hope this helps.

I have the same sound. Took the wheel off and noticed a scuff mark on the piping sleeve on passenger side. The bracket holding the brake line attached to the swaybar endlink is rubbing against the ribbed tubing.. Hence the click click. Not sure what to do.. Lol maybe ill try to mount it somehow a little higher for clearance..
