BT Tool to Turn off Tail Light Malfunction??

Does anyone know if I can turn off the tail light malfunction light that I currently have with the BT Tool?

My tail lights are working just fine but this stupid malfunction is on and I'd rather not take it to the dealer if I can just delete it somehow.

Thanks in advance!

dont think so. I dont recall seeing the option in the BT menu. Might have to take it in.

Run a short test from the function menu and see if a code pops up.

There is a SIB about replacing the bulb socket which seems to be causing this. So it should be an easy fix for the dealer.

I have had a bulb out on each side before. It's less than $2.00 for a 2 pack of bulbs at your neighborhood auto parts store. You can't judge whether a bulb is out by looking from the outside of the car. You have to go in, take the trunk covers off that are over the tail lights, place something on your brake pedal to activate all the lights, and then stick your head in the trunk to check out each bulb directly. The brake light still lights up with a bulb out. There are dual bulbs, and it is not easily detectable from the outside of the car whether you are running on both bulbs per side, or just one.

The bulb can be replaced in 2 minutes and the warning light will be out the next time you start the car. Way too much hassel to go to the dealer for it.
