Seriously, couldn't give a shiznik what it costs to manufacture. If it's sale price represents better value than it's competition it will sell.

If you think that they should be making BMW tunes at some sort of discount price for the good of the masses instead of living off the sweat off the back of the oppressed worker, well, you are living in the wrong country, driving the wrong brand of automobile, and communicating via the wrong device using the wrong network owned by the wrong corporation. You really should pack up your homemade granola, throw on your best woolie's and Birkenstocks, pack your Yurt into the back of your VW microbus, crank the Joplin and head off to the commune.
I lol'd.

Here is the reality, if it does what it says, people will buy it - I won't because I'm happy with my stock car Gimme a tune with a warranty by BMW and only BMW, I'll pay top dollar for it. That may never happen so I'll be stock.

Good Luck to the JB developers!
This may be the wrong thread for you.

I posted this in another thread but probably should have it here

Boost Control with the JB+

The JB+ allows you to adjust boost in two ways...

1) First you can open it (using two screws) and adjust the boost knob from +1.5psi to +5psi. The default setting is +2.75psi. This may be changed as beta testing continues. For comparison the SSTT is at 3.5 psi.

2) The second way is via update chips, which can be mail out in the event that BMW makes changes that require such a change. Or if new features are added. For comparison the SSTT is sealed and not upgradable.

The JB+ also uses logic within the microcontroller to compensate for IAT, altitude, etc, to ensure everything is kept in check.

Wow! This is great information!

Q: Will a JB+ user need to do the bypass thing, like with the JB2?

Awesome!

The main thing I worry about with chips (which is why I dont have one yet) is it's effect to the longevity of our cars. Do you think this will be damaging on our engines in the long run? I assume you will say no, since you are trying to sell the product, but what sort of testing is done to determine this?

Sounds great! Any reason why the default boost is set at 2.75 instead of the 3.5 like the SSTT? The SSTT doesn't throw codes from what I understand. Then again, you can always increase the JB+ if you want, so it doesn't really matter. Do you think it will be safe to run at 3.5 like the SSTT, and how will you know what boost level you are at? Is it marked somehow? Keep the updates coming!

@Mike

Pleeeeeease tell me the "boost knob" isn't a tiny little greeny pot. Some markings for "+1 psi" to "+5 psi" would be great.

Any info on pricing/delivery?

For 29.2+ cars 3.5psi may trigger the hidden warranty codes, especially in the newest ECU software. The suggestion is going to be 2.75psi if you do not have GT1 access.

So if I have a 10/08 build coupe with MSD81 (29.2+ car), a setting above 2.75psi may cause visibility of the tune when taken in for service/warrantly related issue?

How much HP and TQ, at the wheel, can I expect with a 2.75psi setting?

Any updates on the JB+??
Question for those beta testers..... Who has taken the JB+ to max boost? when doing so did you have to use a solenoid bypass kit?
