highest quality light weight wheel..

just wondering which is the best light weight wheel out there, any feedback is appreciated.

also does bmw make a lighter set?

There are a lot of choices. Personally I like the Japanese made wheels from Volk in terms of strength, quality and light weight. It really depends what style you like.

for the price im gonna have to say ccw (not because i own a set or anything like that) ive had a set of te37's, bbs chs (not like they are really light weight), Rotiform's, DPE's and a few other brands but honestly my classics are one of the best wheels ive ever had. 2500 for simple finish and custom everything.... thats a deal for me plus 18x12 21.6lb.... thats legit. but again my 2 cents

19 inch wheels are around 16 LBS!

My dream wheels but i will probably never own them. Unless i can find a set fo 5K used. (in

My 19" Morr VS8.2's only weigh 19 lbs.....I love them. I'd like a set of 18" APEX ARC-8 track shoes which are really affordable. If you are on a tight budget, check out Mod Bargains. They make a form flow CSL rep that only weigh 18 lbs and are very inexpensive.

I remember a member posting about his Volk TE37SL's and he weighed them at 16lbs each...

^__^ i like the look of them too, but i don't think i'll be spending upwards of $5k on wheels... i live in a dodgy neighborhood and forbid me ever to leave my car out overnight; my wheels would be gone before i could truly enjoy them. (wheels locks or not).

Sidenote: a guy 3 blocks away had 5 different locks (from 5 different brands) on his wheels and they STILL jacked his CCW's....

for the money, a "standard" set of 18" volk te-37's are hard to beat in weight. still nowhere close to being considered "cheap" tho hahah

if you can clear the stock 335i brakes, 17s would be even lighter and open up more options.

thanks for the feedback guys, im going to do some research in all of the different suggestions. So far the TE37's are the most appealing but they are a bit expensive. love that rustic/gold color

If you are on a budget then I highly recommend Apex wheels. Very light weight and reportedly very very strong. A lot of BMW track guys are using them with great success. They are currently on top of my list along with some nice CCWs as well, although those are getting played out a bit on the Euro scene.

sorry to divert from the thread but.... and apex arent over played on bimmers?

regardless of brand something cant be played out until too many people are doing the same thing. te37's are everywhere but if you ask someone they will say its not played out. just depends on how you do it

True! I agree. The Apex wheels are somewhat common but not because they are "fashionable" but rather because they are cheap and strong which makes them great for track use. Ultimately, this is what the OP is looking for: cheap and strong.

Personally, I can't stand mesh wheels. There is just too much going on visually and they require more work to keep them clean from brake dust.

Amen to that!!! I use Hawk HT-10's on the track, it would be impossible for me to keep mesh wheels clean.

considering my noob knowledge of my offset and what not. would these wheels fit my 08 335i sedan? if so how big can i go on the tires? looking for 275 or 285 in the rears

wont fit. those are 5x114.3 bolt pattern (most japanese cars). the e90's use a 5x120 pattern.
