Sun-roof

On the last day of specking my car I went for the sun-roof option as my last few cars have been convertibles I thought it may bring a tiny bit of that feeling to the car.

Well as summer has finally arrived this week it has been great to drive to and from work with the roof fully open. I have not had a sunroof on a car for 10 years and I have forgotten what a nice option it is for this time of year getting some fresh air and light in the cabin.

Anyone putting a spec together it is not an obvious choice but I am pleased I put it on my car.

cop out...

you want a proper sun roof !!!

lol

I drove back from Birds last night with all the BMW bits I've taken OFF the car flying around the cabin... DAMN the car sticks to the road now... Quaife and Roll bars do WONDERS for handling... just unbelieveable !

I thought the Quaife would have the back end hanging out everywhere... it's just NOT the case, Remember I'm running a little over stock power right now, 9.5psi on the boost gauge and stock is about 8.5, so not loads of power, but even so if you gas it around a mini roundabout the old car would have started to pegg leg drift... The Quaife just digs in.... wicked feeling and the car just catapults out !!

Carlos you need to drive this to feel how much sharper she is than the DXB.

Would have to agree. I always spec a sunroof on a car. I would trade it for stupid aircon anytime.
The wife's car also has the panoramic roof which is brilliant when fully back.
Even in the winter time I keep it tilted to give a nice airy feel round the cabin.

Top choice.

Love a sunroof but at 6'6" I'm happy BMW gave me the option of not having one.

Now if they would have only let me opt out of the 'start/stop' function (people can't even believe such a stupid feature exists), I'd be a happy guy. (I try to explain that I think there is a tax benefit in the UK resulting from it, but in Poland it seems just plain inconvenient).

I love having a sunroof just because its there if I feel the need. But I could just as easily live without it.

Winter and summer I use it in the tilt position. Hopefully it will be fully open most of the time in the mornings, evenings this summer.

Oh ok It was 26c in Lincolnshire today. Not bad for the beginning of May! I'm a miserable sod though, I don't really like the heat or rather the humidity we get here.

A lot of other countries refer to it as a moon roof.

How the hell are you supposed to get your arse through it when your driving?

We had high humidity here in Virginia the past few days. Thunderstorms and tornados. Today turned out to be rather good -- cool even in the sun. But come June it's gonna be in the high 80's/low 90's with more than 80% humidity.

I'm not sure exactly what the differences are between a "moon" roof and a "sun" roof. I've seen a car speced with a "sun/moon roof". What I'd surmise the difference is is a "moonroof" is glass that only tilts up in the back while a "sunroof" can be either glass or steel and it slides back completely leaving a hole in the roof for the sunshine to come through. In Kentucky it could also let the moonshine come through, too.
