Wow, i'm surprised it was taking all those launches. What RPM were you launching at and were you dropping the clutch or sort of slipping the clutch?

are 1.7 sec 60' launches that difficult on an MT xi? i consistently got that time on my xi with AT (which is pretty stupid proof and ridiculously easy).
but 11.7 @118... holy shit. respect. that high of a trap speed on an xi is really really impressive. i can only wish to achieve those kind of times.

Great times OP!
I cant wait to get back to the track to see if I can better my time posted on dragtimes... Now that I'm running 50/50 E85 and the isolated G5, my car is definitely faster now, but I dont think I'll catch your times... the track I go to isn't known to be very fast Quote:
As far as trap times, that can and will very from track to track by as much as 2-4mph... and he might just have one of those lucky "fast tracks" Last edited by Eracer76; 10-11-2012 at 01:34 PM.. |

Wow your lucky. My transfer case and front diff went at about 50K km's. I wasn't even that rough on it. I did like 20 launches like that dropping clutch at 3000-3500rpm
Still on original clutch though....

Very nice, congrats! Do you know how much boost you were running? Need to get my car to the track. Can't wait to see you go 11.6 that'll be awesome.

At ~105mph power levels I've found it impossible on my >60k miles stock clutch. At the beginning of the season I could run mid 1.8s all day when there still wasn't much rubber on the track. I got a bit of AWD wheelspin and everything was good. Later in the season I'd added more power and the track got stickier and the clutch started slipping on launch. I removed the CDV and went back and it was better, but still couldn't spin the tires. Too much aggression and it would slip on launch again. I need a new clutch.
One thing I learned in all this is that when you get the stock pressure plate really hot it stops releasing correctly and I start missing 2nd until it cools off. |
