Just saw about the recall on the news this morning and immediately thought wow, I'm really slacking with my e90post nerding...I should've known about this WEEKS ago!

No bolt-ons for me these days - too much of a hassle with warranty work. I'd just go to whatever dealer is closest to you. All the suburban Philly dealers are reasonably competent in my experience.

you're bone stock? all I have is JB4 and DCI. ugh what's stopping me from going further into modding is CPO and the fear of something going wrong.. I could've sworn u were fbo at just the last KOP meet. which dealer do u go to if u dont mind? so ur advising i should take off my mods eh.

Have used both Otto's and Devon. Both equally capable. Yeah, I'd put the stock airbox back on even though it's a PITA. You could risk leaving in the JB4, they'd haev no reason to look for it with this recall. Personally I probably wouldnt, my CPO status has been worth its weight in gold...I've had one of everything replaced (and 11 of some things - ahem, injectors...)

Coming back to the meet. Are we meeting this week?
I've been busy with work and couldn't keep up last year. This year, I changed my priorities.

Latest recall is about the replacing a battery cable. I believe the recall starts in March.

Ahhh yeah I thought I read something about a connector that will degrade over time or whatever.

Ben is right on; I would put the airbox back in for your own good, when dealing with any dealers. I threw some absolutely unrelated codes, and Otto's basically said they couldn't do anything for me with a DCI in my car. My service advisor showed me a memo from bmwna backing that fact; bc I told him I read the codes before I got there and knew they were unrelated. I just had to go home, install my airbox and make another appt! Definitely pull off any tunes, even if they're just changing your tires....
I would stick with Devon Hill on BMW Main Line if I were you.

The mods would have no impact on whether they fix the recalled cable, but they can always note on your file that they observed aftermarket parts on your car. Then it would be [High School Principal Tone of Voice]on your permanent record[/High School Principal Tone of Voice]. We are doing a small GTG on Saturday at the shop. Probably around 10am and if it's nice, I'll fire up the BBQ. Show up and say hi if you're in town this weekend.
