Air/water aftercooler?
I currently have a Supercharged Mini cooper and have done almost everything you can do: big valve head, JE Pistions, flyweel, custom tunning, header........etc the list goes on. One of the best things I did was change the air/air intercooler to an Air/water intercooler.
My question is do you think and air/water would help for our simple FMIC?

Was your Air-to-air previously a front mount intercooler? I would suspect it was not. It looks like your new Air-to-water intercooler is now front mounted. A properly designed A-T-A front mount should have an advantage over a properly designed A-T-W front mount most of the time. You can add ice to a A-T-W intercooler but it will only help for a short time. Eventually, the cooling water temperature will be higher than ambient, lowering the effectiveness of an A-T-W intercooler. To answer your original question; no, I don't think an A-T-W intercooler would help the N54 engine more than a properly designed A-T-A intercooler. BTW, nice Mini and cool plate. Nate

I'm with natedogg on this one. I love your mini bro! That must be fun as hell to drive and 270hp is not bad at all. It looks like you have a built motor so it would be fun to throw in a slightly larger s/c and see what it could to. 350whp would be a monster! Muhahahahaha

There is a company called RMW that is coming out with a Rotex supercharger kit with lots of power 300whp and intake temps as low as a NA car. I have driven a 400whp turbo conversion Mini that was stupid fast but not really drivable, it kept steering into park benches and trees :-)
