Do I not know my car's nuances?

So I was just idling about to leave my garage when I noticed the display for the temp. and fan speed was quite dim as compared to the rest of the LCD displays. I pull away and it brightens. I couldn't get it o duplicate again...what gives?

They are usually a small plastic circle in the same colour as the dash, but a bit like the plastic covering the IR part of a remote control, in the instrument cluster.

I have the same problem. It was sunny and bright on that day when it happen. The display on the climate control disapear. I think it might have something to do with DRL. When I pull up to a parking garage, head light turn on and the display is back to normal.......
