Well the point of them is to create a ram air effect!! Which can't be done standing still...if something creating more power during accleration that's a good thing!!

i think you'd probably see the inflated HP gains above 60mph but that doesn't mean it isn't doing anything while you are going 30mph... its just not smashing as much air into the intake as it would at a faster speed. You'll get some gains at 30mph but you'd probably be able to FEEL more gains in the 50-100mph range.

I don't care about the price that much, this would be a great combo with the Injen intake I'm getting! As soon as that's installed count me in!

I just can't believe those scoops could increase hp at a high speed that good.

think about it... the air is coming in faster at 70mph so its colder. so they're allocating or "catching" more of that colder air in volume to bring into the intake (instead of drafting up to your windshield and over the car) and down into the engine... Then when colder air is compressed, it's thicker (more dense) so it produces more power in the cylinder during combustion.

it makes perfect sense to me at least

BTW though, this might not make as significant of a difference on your car since you'll be running a short ram Injen and not a full cold air intake like a gruppe or simota. you'll lose some of that cold air from being mixed into the engine bay with hot air from the engine.

if you had the simota or gruppe, the cold air doesn't escape anywhere cuz its all enclosed from the minute it hits the grille until it enters the cylinders.

That is so true. I can tell when I am going over 65mph.

More air in the combustion chamber = more power...sounds simple enough ya?

Yes it does! And I can always put a cover over my intake right? So no air escapes/comes in from the engine?

how does it work though? the question might be a bit dumb, but to be honest with you, i really don't know how it work? would you be able to explain it more? is it the intake's supplement since it is kind of hard to imagine to gain 8-15HP @ 70MPH with 2 pieces of plastic/metal. will it work without an intake installed on your car??

It increases the air flow through the intake system by scooping up more available air passing through the grills (greater volume of air = more HP). It should work with the stock intake setup because it's still increasing the air flow through the system.
