HELP! with run flats
so i'm driving along and i hear "whap,whap,whap,whap..." that gets faster when i accelerate and slower as i decelerate. I pull into my driveway and discover that under the wheel-well on the rear, driver's side..there is a piece of almost cloth insulation that has ripped and must be hitting the tire and causing that noise. Upon further inspection, i notice that the inside edge of my driver side rear tire is showing silver wires? that can't be good. they're in a weave pattern and i haven't lost any air pressure...time for new tires? could that have caused the cloth to get loose? should i get conventional tires and not the dreaded rft's. any advice is appreciated!
