+1 I hate trucks and SUVs.. they ALWAYS tailgate, I just don't understand why?! and it seems like they've got their high beam on cuz it's right in my rear view mirror... once this SUV was tailgating me with ALL his LIGHTS OFF at night.. i couldn't see him.. it was weird?! I just stepped on it and ditched it..

The switch from my E93 will be available as soon as I install the German switch I have already purchased. PM if you are interested. My car will be in the US in June. I live in western MD.

So to summarize:

The button is already there but those little clips are holding it from being pressed.

Cut the clips and find something to take the place of the white piece.

You just won't have the little picture on the button (no big deal).

Correct?

Yes... and you only need a small white piece to enable the turbos in your 325!

If you take a small block of wood that is long enough to reach those switches and epoxy it to the back of the button, it will serve the same purpose as the white plastic insert.

Dont think that'll work....the piece must hit the two plastic nipples on the main circuit board
if you can get it to hit one nipple....then one rear fog will turn on

OK, I guess you know because you have seen the actual piece and mine is still on a ship in the Atlantic Ocean. What about wooden dowels?

No problem... all that this mod will do is light up the adative brake lights. When they are on as the rear fogs, the adaptive brake light function is moot.

Interesting... now what about a mod that will shine large amounts of high beam like light at tailgaters.

Just remove the red lens over the adaptive brake light and voila!

Something like this:

I just did this mod and I figured out a relatively easy way to makeshift the white piece. here is what I did.

1) I wanted to bridge the two buttons on the circuit board together so I could get the left and right side to come on at the same time without trying to find something as wide as the white piece. I cut a tiny sliver of wood from one of those stirring sticks they give you at the paint store. I super glued it to both buttons. See pic (sorry for poor quality)

[IMG][/IMG]

2) I found the plastic cap to my super glue would work for the white piece. I used Loctite Super Glue Gel. See pic below.

[IMG][/IMG]

3) The cap will be too long. Cut the extra off from the WIDE side. You want to put the thin part of the cap into the back of the black button. If the piece is too wide it will expand the back of the button and it won't slide properly.

[IMG][/IMG]

4) Here it is:

[IMG][/IMG]

It is important to cut the blue super glue cap to the right length taking into account the wood piece. I forgot to measure it before I put it back together. Just take a little off at a time till it is right. Remeber to remove from the thicker end of the cap.

I hope some of you find this useful. I thought it was an easy solution.
