The cons i see are price and hot spots, the flicker isnt a huge deal.

I like that lux is accepting refunds to unhappy customers. Thats a proper business mitigating the problems. I do however, find it hard to understand they never experienced the flickering. Did they not properly QA these on all cars they were building them for?
Your correct the outer rings are hard to view not only because of the color temperature, but also the physcial design of the ring. BMW designed these in such a way that if you view them from the side the ridges in back are not viewable, and thats what reflects the light outwards.

For the flickering, we honestly did not experience this in all the months of testing. Maybe it was the specific models we picked or the year of the cars, but we didn't find this out until after all the lights had been produced. We are of course looking to find a solution but its proving to be rather difficult. That said we do not have any information regarding a fix or a course of action even if we do.

This weekend I drove from the Bay Area to San Diego and during the drive my right AE kept turning off and I kept getting a error on my idrive. Could this be from the heat? It was like 95+ degrees most of the way. My drive was split into 3 3 hour segments. I didnt have any issues coming back up to the bay today though. Is heat a concern and when going on long drives in hot climate should I be turning my AE's off? I've never had any other issue with the v4s and have had them when they first came out

I have a 2011 135i and a 2011 X5. Still very much on the fence whether "upgrading" the angel eyes will give me something that looks even remotely like the new LED coronas. My fear is that replacing them with some aftermarket is that it will end up looking cheap and AutoZone-ish.

These will absolutely not look cheep at all. We have been making angel eyes now for over 4 years and that is the last thing we would be looking for. The 5000K color is a pure white color and will make them look amazingly bright. The cooler color temperatures will give you some variety if you want as well. If for any reason you aren't happy as well we can accept these back for a $10 restocking fee.

This exact light went all dark blue last night and ended up getting pulled over. One side is fine but one light just basically is completely blue. Not sure what is going on.

Here's what mine looks like. I got these in June and couldn't be happier. I pretty much had the same doubt about the outer ring being not as bright but the distance thing actually works. One of my colleagues forced me to order from you guys and here are the results, its set at 5700K.

And for all you guys who are complaining about LUX bulbs, please return your bulbs, get your refund and buy some cheap stuff off of ebay. I guess that will make you happy and stop bitching.

And I read many people complaining about their AE's flickering while turning them ON/OFF and surprisiingly even LUX admitted to it but I would like to say that MINE DO NOT !!! knock wood for that

Well after reading the 8 pages of this thread I am going to order the Lux v4 sometime this week. Props to Lux for answering questions!!! They seem like a great company that if you run into any problems with the lights they will respond and try to find solutions. Many other companies will not do this. This will be my first experience with lux and I will be sure to write a review after I order and intall the lights.

The lights themselves, once they are on, don't look cheap at all. It when you turn them on or off that they look cheap and noticeably aftermarket. It's just one of those things that you can either live with or not. Personally I was a little annoyed when I found out they pulse when turning on and off but it's not to big of a deal and to be honest anything beats the halogen.

I bought the PIAA H8 halogen 4150K bulbs. I skipped the headaches and lack of outer ring illumination that the LEDs bring and it knocks the yellow out of what the OEM bulbs had. Done for $70.

Halogen bulbs do look better then stock, however they will always have a odd hue to them since its a yellow bulb with a blue coating on it.
