In the process of refreshing my xi front suspension and I've been looking at ways to drop the front without lowering springs. I read in another thread about people using non xi mounts and top hats to drop the front about half an inch, which is what I'm aiming for. Anyone have a clear answer?

I think the non-xi mounts will actually raise your car. The xi mounts are thinner to try to get back some travel lost when they moved the bottom of the strut up to clear the half-shaft.
