The particle filter warning light has come on, how can it be resolved?

OP, are you talking about micro filter (i.e. cabin air filter) or the particle filter (diesel exhaust filter)?

I think it's causing some confusion here and only one of those is easy and cheap to replace.

It would be pretty funny if he were talking about the particulate filter, and was asking a serious question. Would kind of show what a good portion of this forum is all about. It always happens when a platform ages.

I'm pretty sure the OP was talking about the DPF since he drives a 320d. OP, I think you need to bring the car to a good indie who has the proper equipment to diagnose the problem. They may be able to clear the code and trigger a regen cycle a couple of times to resolve the issue. If that doesn't work there are also DPF cleaning services in areas where desiels are common. If none of that works and the DPF has to be replaced, you're looking at a lot of money. The part is very expensive. Good luck!
