just fyi, on e92's, m3's and mtech packages have gloss black trim. only e90's have the matte black from the factory on base models only.
I prefer matte black, I don't like the glossy finish.

I second bmwshadowline.com, awesome product. Plastidip looks cheap IMO. I bought a can to do my trim with first and tested it on the badge. Maybe I'm just not good at spray painting but it looked awful. A friend installed my shadowline in about 1.5 hours with the help of a heat gun. 0 issues and it looks so much better than chrome. Also much cheaper than OEM which, of course, is the best option

I did Plastidip and it came out nice. Can't even tell it's Plastidip. It's a matte finish and matches the kidney grills perfect.
It's been on for a few months and no fading or peeling. Here's some crappy pics from when I did it.

Yep, get a roll of this vinyl, i recommend 4 inch width, and try and wrapping it if your brave. Its the best way.

That being said, its honestly more difficult to wrap than most panels of the car itself... might want to pay someone to do it if you want it done really well.

You definitely need a heat gun and a ceramic blade xacto to tackle the project. Good Luck!

This is vinyl wrap cut specially for our trims to make it easier. You can get it in GLOSS BLACK or MATTE BLACK. only 35 bucks.

Side note to you with matte grilles: I also had matte and didn't like the way it looked on jet black. I bought a can of clear coat and sprayed them and they came out perfect and a great balance between gloss and matte.. More on the gloss side. Keep it in mind if you get bored with matte.

JG, looks good! I definitely prefer matte, my window trim is and I dipped my kidneys and badge. Now, to tackle the last little bits of chrome.
