AUC E90 2006 with cic pro nav

Hi all,

So I have put a deposit down on a 330i SE saloon manufactured end of 2006. This will be my first six pot car and first petorl in 5 years so quite excited.

It is through a BMW main dealer.
The car has been fitted with a cic pro satnav system. According to the Vin it should have a pro sat nav but ccc only due to age.
Also the auto gear shifter has been replaced for the newer version.

Is this sort of thing unheard of from a main dealer? The sales rep has said it is perfectly acceptable but I suspect that the warranty may well be void if somwthing goes wrong.

Is there a way to check the vin number registered on the CIC firmware? I will most likely want to update the maps and dont want surprises of an expensive FSC code that doesnt work.

Cheers all.

The dealer approved the car, surely their responsible if a warranty claim is void because of the retrofit?

Maybe get the sales rep to confirm in writing that the car has no retrofits which may void the warranty.

Jammy. In 2008 the car had warranty work carried out on some part of the idrive system. The garage that did the work have said they are not prepared to discuss with me. But another dealer said the work was related to the ccc but could not see any further into the claim. Hypothetically under these circumstances could it be swapped out? Cic Long shot ....

Hey opportunist i will request it in writing along with a list of other points cheers.

Is there a way to check the vin?

My guess is they are retrofits plain and simple that the dealer didn't spot when buying car and is now trying to push it under the carpet. Does the Auc website have pictures of the cars interior? If so I would simply save them and use them if the dealer/BMW try to refute any claim.

Yeah they do. Video too of a walk round so it is clear that 8 button controller is part of the car.

I think its clear that BMW haven't done a retrofit. They have taken a car in part ex which has and are trying to move it on.

BMW AUX warranty will not cover a retrofitted CIC..... even if they agree & it goes faulty (very rare), best case is they'll replace it will a CCC.

I'd go down the route of getting money off the car, as clearly it's not had the AUC checks done!

Dealer came back today to say just that jammy. Car has finally gone through inspection and error message after error message flashed up. The car will not be covered under warranty and will not be an AUC even though it was advertised as such. Shame as they were going to replace all four discs and pads.

They did offer me non bmw warranty.

So I am back to the drawing board.

Edit.... actually, thinking about it - the CIC might not have been installed or coded correctly..... so maybe wise to keep looking!

A 2006 car seems really old to be sold though a BMW dealer. I'm even more surprised when it's a 330i SE.

AUC is pretty meaningless anyway.
