If you want something that drones a little less than the Vanguard & is probably superior build quality, just buy some1's OEM E9x M3 exhaust. There are probably a ton floating around that people are parting out inexpensively. If it's still not loud enough (and I have no idea what an E9x M3 exhaust hooked up to an N54 will sound like), but you can get the cheap ACM exhaust mod (basically gut the mufflers out).

Just a suggestion, looking forward to updates

The M3 exhausts have better damping then our N55 exhausts! The fact that our turbo "eats" sound, makes the M3 exhaust less louder when installed!

This was also reported from N54 owners who changed OEM N54 exhaust to a OEM M3 exhaust...

I've never done an engine swap, but from a car to car basis I much prefer the N55 over the N54. I had a 2009 335i Coupe with the N54 engine and I moved into a 2012 335i Coupe with the N55 and it was much more responsive, and the gas mileage better. But again, that is an entire car switch so there could be many other factors outside of just the engine. I got the Dinan stage 2 tune on both, and even though the numbers were slightly higher on the N544 tune from a HP perspective in the real world the N55 car is quicker and better from 0-60
