exhaust fumes in the cab AA catless DPs

Just installed AA catless DPs last week and wow the power gain is huge. I have been noticing when sitting at a light or in slow traffic I am getting a bit of exhaust smell in the car. Is that normal or is the gasket between the cats and the DPs bad? They looked fine when I installed them.

I've had my AA DPs for about 3 months and it's VERY rare to smell any fumes(but yes, it's normally the situations you just described.) I'd take a quick look to confirm everything is still bolted up and then i'd say it's normal. Take a look at the gaskets if you're still worried, that shouldn't take but a few minutes.

I'm catless and I smell my exhaust every time my car is at a stand still.

It could be your "bomb proof" gaskets leaking. If the DP's are not aligned properly, they will blow out due to the uneven clamping force.

I'm not trying to tell you how to live your life, but you need to buy these if your current gaskets are leaking... they will make you a differnt man. Just follow the tourque specs that come with.

Totally normal at a light or stop that you smell the exhaust fumes if the wind is blowing towards the front of the car.

Welcome to the wonderful world of being fully catless..the smell will be more pronounced in the begining and as time goes you will become more desensitized to it..but make no mistake it will always be there..small price for the power gains IMO
