You sure you're not confusing DSG padles with normal Auto Sport padles?
I could be wrong I wasn't aware of LCI's having different paddles for auto Sport boxes

They are different mine has - on the left and + on the right and they only move one way i.e. towards you.
The paddle change wasn't part of the LCI upgrade i think BM changed it last year sometime. |

I preffer the Pre LCI if im honest, my dads F10 has the - / + type and my E92 has the older type. I like the fact you can click up or down a gear with one hand, rather than needing two hands, what if I broke my left hand but wanted to drop a couple of cog's quicksharp to overtake a lesser car!?

I prefer the earlier version. I'm planning on retrofitting them to my 330d.

the lci paddles have a smaller movement and are more positive, i have them retrofitted to the 335d and on the e93 i have the chrome ones, when i sell the 335 im transferring the lci paddles to the e93
