I despair of inept foreign owner management.
Two of the best company cars I have ever had have been Vauxhalls (a 1989 Cavalier SRi and a Vauxhall Omega) so I have a soft spot for them. However today they seem to have totally lost their way. Their cars are just bland and the brand does not seem to stand for anything. And this Adam is a pig in a poke. What on earth were they thinking? In order to compete profitably with Mini and the Fiat 500 it's going to have to be really really good. However the road test just seem to indicate that it is something of an also ran. It looks pig ugly - so it will be a failure. The tragedy of it is that so many UK jobs depend upon Vauxhall's success. I think that given the car industry's fiscal troubles at the moment we will end up seeing some plant closures in the UK with the loss of too many jobs - lousy management and poor product decisions will be responsible. I just don't get it - anyone could see this before this crapper got off the drawing board. Wake up and smell the coffee guys!!!! |

It's uncanny how close the Audi A1 it looks. And I'm sure the Chavetts will buy in on HP like it's going out of fashion. But the name??
I too used to rate Vauxhall, back in the 90's, But they haven't built a good engine since then |

I had a 1.6 cavalier
Cost me £800 I ran it for 3years at a cost of £70 in parts (except servicing) and I sold it for £600. How times have changed!!!

I like it, as a second car or a young persons first car I 'd be well happy with it. My first car was a high mileage astra and it still took me five years of abuse to kill it
hope it succeeds!

I think that the new Corsa, Astra (both especially in GTC/VXR form), Insignia and Ampera are much more eye catching than the bland output from BMW at the moment. Still not a fan of Vauxhall interiors though! Last edited by G82Dude; 11-10-2012 at 05:55 AM.. |

Aside from the paintwork how is this different to a Corsa?
People are getting larger in both height and width, do we really need smaller cars? |
