A recent TV show proved that people "driving under the influence" use much more gas than sober people, so I guess the answer is "yes".

Not only that, it's illegal!

Actually, if a LSD is generating any kind of additional friction, heat, over a standard diff, then you are wasting more energy. So if you are always going around turns, its possible that you will be wasting more energy with a LSD. I don't know if it is quantifiable for the average driver though. On my M-Diff, it used a hydraulic pump to increase clutch pressure as it sensed one wheel spinning too much.

The Quaife is an automatic gear-operated Torque Biasing differential. It operates just like your standard open-diff in normal driving.

because I know a lot of ///M3 owners were getting worse mpg with the 4.10 upgrade

You will use similar amounts of fuel.

You will burn more tyres as it's so much fun.

You will save on rear brake pads if you turn off dsc.

The trails from the other vehicles headlines might look cool but would make it difficult with trying to stay on the road.

That would be due to the increased revs they were running at the same road speed.
