135i Orange ABS, Brake, DSC
Hi Guys
The short story is I had lights coming on/going off for a month or so now, but now they're on and won't go away. I did some diagnostics and it looks like my front right wheel is not giving any speed data, whereas the other 3 seem to agree (see attached screenshot). So I understand a few different things could've gone wrong here - the sensor may require cleaning, the sensor may be faulty, the wiring harness may be broken. Looks like this is a pretty common fault. What is the most likely culprit here? |

Plug the sensor from the left front into the right front wheel. If the fault goes away replace the sensor

I replaced my front right ABS sensor a few weeks ago in my E82, similar code to yours.
I swapped the sensor right to left, cleared codes, code moved to the left. Easy fix, good luck |

Ok this is becoming really complicated and irritating.
I replaced the front right sensor - the fault still wouldn't go away. Checked the live data, no info coming from the front left! Replaced that as well. All lights gone, woohoo! Drove the car about 50 miles (so glad to have it back) then kaboom, all 3 orange lights come back. I checked the live data, and no wheel speed data is coming out of the rear right wheel. Wtf? Not too sure what to make of this. I guess its plausible that 2 sensors go bad at once (FF AND FR), but now the rear as well? What are the odds? |

Another update... now I've had a "Transmission Fault" then "Transmission Overheating" fault pop up as well. Anyone have any ideas?
Here's the full fault code list as of right now. |

I had the same issue on mine (wheel speed sensor) and it was the wire in the wheel arch that needed fixing. It had worn through and caused an intermittent fault when contact was lost.
I soldered it back up and no issues anymore. |
