Melbourne Paintshop

Hi Guys

Anyone want to recommend a good paintshop/ panel beater in Melbourne. Am thinking about getting my rear bumper re- sprayed and also maybe some m3 side skirts. I just want it to match up well with the rest of the cars body.

Thanks

Active actually did a really good job on my sister's Merc when some retard scraped the side of the car. You can't even tell it was painted as it matches perfect

Terrible job on Phils bonnet. Dust specs all embbeded in the paint. From the shoddy work I've seen on Phils car they don't know their way around our cars at all.

Hi Tawf

My old man is a ex panelbeater and Insurance assessor, he now works for himself as a PDR technician, I can have a chat to him tonight if you like he would able to recommend the beater shops.

I only use Terry from Tankards in Ringwood to do my painting.

Cheers

Hi mate

Thanks that would be awesome if you can ask your dad to recommend anyone he thinks is good. I am in no rush at the moment and just looking to have a list of shops I can get some qoutes done.

Can also vouch for the quality of Charlie Battisti, but they seem to be very busy at the moment (got told earliest to book car in was mid Dec).

Hi Tawf

He mentioned "File Finish" I think they are in Fairfiled if not try Tankards in Ringwood.

Definitely won't recommend them. it took them two times and 1.5 months to repaint a bumper and a bonnet as they sanded terribly and paint was peeling from edges of bonnet, and the car was returned back with a broken windshield that was caused by the oven or bonnet edge when reinstalling and they acted like they did not see it at all. I was like wait a minute my windscreen had no cracks whatsoever, now you give me my car back with further damage??? Waited another 2 weeks for a new windshield. 3 day job turned into 6 weeks. never ever go there lol.

Corporate Autobody in Thomastown. Ask for chris. the guy has been restoring classic cars for years and I got him to paint two silver cars and one black car. color match and workmanship was great on all three cars considering I am anal about how hard it is to rematch a silver paint. They repainted each car within a week and delivered it within the same week I dropped off the car. I was impressed and my e30 is next for them to repaint.

Damn that is an unfortunate experience - guess I may have gotten lucky with mine as everything came out looking like OEM and a proper job done.
