I have no problem with such a poll. It is best to keep it anonymous though as it will tend to be more accurate. That being said you can not restrict the votes to current, potential, likely nor certain M3 owners. Lots of folks that will never buy the car will probably vote. Your result is then what is the distrubution of income at m3post.com

Last point, based on the replies thus far you needed to go over $150k.

well if you're single. and not many other expenses and have come to realize that you live once then it's not so unreasonable...

add insurance, gas and some small stuff you are looking at $1500 / month!
