E90 Bluetooth help
I have a 08 328 (bought used) without idrive or assist. I was convinced that Bluetooth was not present and was looking into possible retrofit options. When I looked in the trunk to verify harness was present, I discovered that indeed a MULF2 bluetooth module was mounted and connected. I'm extremely confused, since the dealer told me that the bluetooth was not installed in this vehicle without BMW assist option. I cannot get the system to enter any kind of pairing mode. Is there a chance that dealer can interrogate software to determine the ultimate configuration of the system? Any suggestions would be welcome.

You should search through the Technology Forums for the answer to this. It's there.

I assume you tried pairing through the radio and it didn't work. If you haven't, the following link shows you how.
http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Conte...ngStarted.aspx It seems strange that the module is there and I wouldn't trust what the dealer says.

Saw this thread. Keidejw did you get it working?
I have an 08' 328i with 6FL (USB/iPod) option already installed and MULF2 module in trunk. I also found the FSD (overhead console) had the yellow and black wired connector for mic and Black Farak fiber cable above the pedals for BT antenna along with 2 wires for aux. speaker. What I don't understand is... is there suppose to be 2 antenna's (another besides the one above the pedals)? And shouldn't I connect one of the fiber cables laying in the trunk (black Farak) into the MULF2 module? And if so, where? Also, what about the mic wires? Are they already connected to MULF2? or do I need to do something in order to get them connected? |

Forgot to state in previous thread... I just purchased the mic, BT antenna and aux. speaker. BTW, BMW has told me twice that my car is incompatable for BT.

Sorry for the delay, just back from a vacation. I bought the parts from my local BMW dealer parts dept. (found the PNs in the threads). When I picked up the parts, they were interested in where I had heard the information about this year, make, having been pre-wired and with MULF2 module. They had not heard this... but were interested in the outcome. I am still waiting for somebody to tell me about where to plug in the BT antenna and if I need another antenna for cell.

Update on above post... Installed the parts. Repositioned mic wires in trunk from loose connector to blue 18x3 connector connected to MULF2. Repositioned mic wires behind glove box to proper pins (it was a little difficult getting the wires out of the connector, but after studying the connector for awhile, the right tool made it happen). Changing the mic wires made a difference in the voice recognition. It now started syaing all kinds of things and eventually said "function currently not available" and shut off. Ordered BT coax line, ~$52 w/ tax, as installed cable from BT antenna may not go directly to the trunk ( I didn't Ohm this out to check), because none of the available coax connectors were "keyed" properly). Next steps: Install BT antenna line (when it comes in) and get it coded. One BMW shop stated $125 for coding and leave the car all day, cause all the modules need to be updated. Anybody run into any problems with this?
