Are These Prices Reasonable?
Yes, know the "stealership" cost more, but I like having my work done there (bad experiences with indy shops). There is a lot of variation dealership to dealership (I found almost 40% deference between two dealerships with in 50 miles of each other). Do these prices seem reasonable?

What on earth is a vehicle check?
You can do better on oil changes- look for a competing dealership coupon or something- should be able to get it down to around $80 |

You can also order the breaks from bimmian for cheaper then just have an independent install them for a total of $400 to $450 or so. The oil change you can get for less as well maybe $90 to $100.

That seems right for dealership prices. If it were me I would do (I did) it myself. It's easy and half the cost, using all OEM parts from Tischer

Vehicle check is their Inspection they always do no matter what you take it in for. They look over whole car make sure everything is good and to find more stuff to charge you on.

I though about it, but I really don't have the time (I wish I did). Believe it or not the other dealership I got quoted me $900 for the rear brakes, I had a hard time keeping a straight face when the service rep told me that price was "competitive".

Seems like $80 would be a real good deal - there is some labor involved ya know.

Greetings...coming from a Porsche. Here are my (Porsche) numbers. Rear pads and rotors - thousands. Vehicle check - free. Oil change - $300. Are your quotes the lowest, highest, or somewhere in between? New replacement rotors, calipers and pads from Brembo for the rear is around $2500 (based on my research.) $653 might be a bargain (albeit - less the calipers). One great benefit from leasing a BMW for 2 - 4 years - maintenance is free. Except for tires. Exceptional value from BMW and based on residual value...makes a big difference. Your quotes do not seem too unreasonable. Shopping for a better deal might be warranted. Have you shopped other independent shops? Good luck...as you know, brakes are very important...spare no expense. Semper Fi |

to much imo, i was just looking and i get get stoptech rotos, green stuff break pads, sensors, stoptech stainless lines and break fluid for about 700 bucks and thats for all four wheels. I would buy the parts myself and do it myself or get the parts yourself and go to an indy shop and have them install them for you, either way its going to be cheaper then the dealer. and even if you wanted to do all oem parts, we did my buddys e90 not to long ago and he only payed around 600 for all oem parts for the break job.

I agree with the others...
Ive paid around $90 for oil changes at the dealer only because I did not have the tools or the time... Brakes at the dealer are suicide IMO... even if you do not have the tools or a good indy.. use the forums... you spend $300 max for a full brake set (pads)and pay someone with beer, dinner or whatever... you still would come out way below dealer costs.

I just had my rear brakes done (pads, rotors and sensors) at the dealer because they were $75+ cheaper than quotes I got from indy shops...couldn't believe it! They must have had a special. $545 total.
They were also advertising $89 oil changes. |

Anyway, my dealer sends out coupons all the time, one of which is regularly a $80 oil change. As for the other prices, (this is my 328, dunno anything else off hand) rotors are $150 for the pair, plus pads maybe 110. Add labor and it's not unreasonable, but you can do better. EDIT: sorry, for some reason I was thinking a different number. 653 is pretty unreasonable, even for a dealer.
