Goodbye E90post
Hey E90post,
It's actually been a few months but I'd like to thank you all for the help, memories and entertainment over the years. I sold my beloved E90 328i and bought myself an F31 328d X-Drive. It's equipped with full M-Sport kit and I've added the M Performance Front Lip, Rocker Extensions, Diffuser and Apex SM-10 wheels. My choice to sell was hard and mostly emotional. I sold it more so that I'm planning on starting a family and needed something that had better fuel economy. The e90 is still going strong with a friend and hope to occasionally see it. I will still fulfill all my Speed Demon needs with my 2010 E60 M5. Here are some pics of Black Mamba V1.0, the new Black Mamba V2.0 and my M5. Thanks for everything e90post! I'll still be around!

How do you like the 328d? I almost considered getting into one of those (M-Sport X-Drive wagon) in place of my 335i over the summer. I do primarily long distance highway driving these days + bought a house so a wagon would help with the Home Depot trips. But, I've heard pretty mediocre things about that diesel engine and of course the steering on the f30s. And I really didn't like the 330 x-drive wagon I drove as a loaner, which granted was not a sport package.

I love wagons and that is a nice specimen. That said, I think diesel cars are marching to the grave. IIRC, BMW will stop production of diesel models as are a few as well. So I am not sure the longevity let alone resale value of them.
V10 M5 is cool but maintenance is not cool. Hahaha.... |

As far as the M5, there's a really big misconception of how these machines are run. Yes, the Rod Bearings would need to be done at some point but ALWAYS with proper warm up (drive low RPMs until up to temp, not idle), proper oil service intervals, and great care, I have witnessed these awesome V10s last into the 180k mileage. Yes, maintenance is expensive but it is what BMW ///M is known for and I anticipated it. At the end of the day, it's a Bootleg Super Car motor. Hahaha
