Racing Group in WI/Chicago areas: SCCA, NASA, Club?
Wanted to know if anyone has thoughts or experience with the different governing sanctions in this area. I come from doing a lot of events with NASA Rocky Mountain who have a very good region with a lot of participation.
I'd like to get involved with the group that is going to have good participation and generally good people looking to have a good time. That's what its all about, right? What would be your vote? NASA, SCCA or BMWCCA and which region?

I'm also interested in this. I was just at Autobahn Country Club this past weekend for an HPDE (968TomR was there as well and might be able to chime in) and one of the instructors recommended Midwestern Car Council as an active group to run with. I've only done HPDE's but would be interested in getting more involved as well.

I can say that both the NASA GTS and SpecE30 groups in the MW region are good groups of racers.
I don't have any significant personal experience with the other groups and classes, except in a few isolated interactions. So far, I haven't met anyone who would have turned me off to the organization as a whole. |
