There are a few BPs selling it in the south.Im searching for it in the North at the moment.I used to own a VW jetta CLI (1.8i) in South Africa 1994.Had all the usul boy racer bits - gas flowed head racing cam......It had a pinging prob at higher revs and was advised by a guy who regularly did hill climbs to use 105 octane to eliminate this prob. Now let me tell you - 1st to 4th against an e36 325i didnt stand a chance, but continuous use would have burnt out the valves - so i was told.Jus t needed to know if the 102 would have the same effect on the performance

No you are right I take it all back
In March 2010, BP stopped sales of Ultimate Unleaded 102, citing the closure of their specialty fuels manufacturing facility But BP still say BP Ultimate 102 unleaded The latest addition to the BP Ultimate family is BP Ultimate 102 unleaded. This is the most advanced, high performance fuel ever to be introduced at forecourts in the UK. BP Ultimate 102 unleaded is a precision engineered, high performance fuel. It has an octane number of 102 unleaded and burns more completely to allow highly tuned engines to perform at their best. In addition to its unique performance qualities, BP Ultimate 102 unleaded is the only fuel to be classified as non carcinogenic. I shall nip down here and see Newham Way, Canning Town, London, E16 1QX Last edited by fulcrum; 05-08-2012 at 08:14 AM.. |

I can't find any mention of it on the BP UK website? Also that PDF list is only places up north.
Just seen that the website lists that my local BP stocke 'Ultimate Unleaded' but I know for a fact that this is 97Ron. I used to have to put in an addative in my turbo'd RX8. Also has the same logo as in the PDF for bp ultimate. You sure they don't just call 97 BP Ultimate Unleaded now? Basically I want some. has anybody actually bought this recently and more to the point have they bought it in Essex? Balls! I need to read more carefully! Listed under UK fuels. Site locator here http://www.bp.com/sectiongenericarti...tentId=7033278 Search for BP ultimate (not ultimate diesel or unleaded) The Newham Way BP service in Canning Town is listed and this was one of the original 10 trial sites. Give them a bell. |

The only place I've seen 102 sold is at Silverstone. Hideously expensive, too - it wouldn't be something you could run your car on day-to-day though.

Let me guess - you told your wife that the wet mattress was due to an overspill - lol
Re the 102 - I called at Brammal Lane BP ,Sheffield and the manager was confident that they had BP ultimate fuel.I walked up to the pump and it said 97.Incidentally - I watched an old fifth gear episode which compared Optimax 98 and Ultimate 97 - The Subaru showed better performance with Optimax. The search goes on for this Magic potion - Ah whilst at the forecourt,I also saw the worst e90 saloon wrapped car in white.Perhaps he was going for an orange peel effect all round..Yuk |
