Gonna Cruise Bear Mountain on Monday

So I'm going to pick up my new whip in the city on monday and figured i'd take a fun road back. A girl i work with told me about this road she took once and was showing me the route and it turned out to be bear mountain.

after seeing all the vids and stuff on here, i figured it's the best way to take.

anyway, if anyone is in the area monday afternoon around 4 or 5 (i think) and wants to cruise the windy roads, it would be kinda sick to get a little group going.

kinda short notice, but it would be fun!

if people respond, we can work out more details on time and meeting places

opps just came back from Bear mountain, amazing roads , lakes... and mainly for us the curves, was there was almost 6 hours covering the entire Harriman state park

I would suggest taking the seven lakes drive across the park.

Let me know when your going- I am fairly close. I used to go almost every weekend on my bike. I just got my E92 so I never wanted to go in a car until now!

I'm probably gonna be there around 6 or 6:30... cuttin it kinda late unfortunately..

this rain is killin me i just hope it doesn't get too dark while i'm up there lol

through out the day i just saw 1 drive by... and as benzy89 said it was a park ranger vehicle.
But be careful of dears and other animals on the road , surprisingly they were really not afraid of the cars.

Haven't been up there this year so I don't want to mislead you. I'd say enjoy the drive at a "reasonable" speed -- The combination of it being dark outside + twisty mountain road has high potential for close calls, whether it's a speeding ticket or wildlife. Last thing you want to do is nail a deer in your new ride

i'm hoping i get out of there before it gets tooooo dark, but i'll def be on the look out for critters

There is ONE park ranger who watches the road, and he is usually on the top of Perkins drive. He is a school teacher and does this on the side. you shouldn't have to worry about him. There are cops that do take the road from time to time, but its pretty rare. The road has a lot of bikers (10 speed and motorctcles) on it but as long as you are careful you will love these roads.
