Don't see why it wouldn't.

From what I've already read about it, I'm pretty sure it does.

Even though we have the same platform it does not mean we have the same electrical setup , HOPEFULLY!!!

The battery and mounts are pretty much identical, however. Same locations in both cars, and the recall says 3 series, period, without a model specification.

yes 3 series but AGAIN I believe our electrical systems are different therfore i.e battery cables etc etc are Different. A diesel battery is not the same battery as a gasser therfore there might be a possibility that the cable work is somewhat Different. then we will see if any "D"s do make the changes

Thanks Moxie. I plan on e-mailing my SA about this sometime this week.
For all we know they may have lumped our Ds into the "335i" category. |

I am very firm on what I said OUR cars are electrically (i.e. battery, cables etc etc) different than the OTHER 3 series cars but until someone can change my thinking on this I will stand by my word.

Having read the NHTSA letter to BMWNA, it appears to not include the 335d, but knowing how the government screws up on such things, I suppose I would wait for the BMW letters. Of course, the dealers may screw things up too. Do these recall letters typically come from your assigned dealer or from BMWNA?

Usually from BMWNA and then told to see your dealer to address it.

You can be very firm all you want. When you get the recall, feel free to be unfirm.

We'll find out.
It can go either way. For a year my insurance card ready 335i b/c they didn't have a way to put a D in the computer. I find it hard to believe the 335i 335is 335d m3 etc, all have different setups. but who knows!

Considering that realoem shows the batteries and connectors (to the battery) are identical between 335i and 335d, you should probably reconsider how firm you want to be.

My vehicle check warning came on so I called to book my appointment. So I asked if the I needed to get my battery cable replaced and the dealership said that my car is not affected by this recall.

Any idea what your trouble might be? Most likely emissions related I'd guess.
